Mylan is pretty good about volume, especially on a drug like Coreg that's pretty popular. My guess is that they've been making it for a while, so I wouldn't foresee any supply problems in the near future. In six months it won't matter anyway, because there will be other generic drugmakers producing it and it would be trivial to switch.

Here in the Northeast, Toprol outdoes Coreg in volume by a wide margin. Every strength of Toprol is a fast-mover, whereas I've never seen Coreg stocked in the easy-pull sections. AstraZeneca does have a pretty good marketing team in this region of the country, though. I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with it.

It was pharm rep week this past Tuesday, the bubbly Coreg rep is now pushing TwinRix and some other vaccine. Tee hee.

Hopefully there won't be any manufacturing/backlogs with generic carvedilol. I find it works better at controlling BP than Toprol XL and really hated having to convert pts when Coreg was backordered.
